OHIO BREEDING BIRD ATLAS II
The Ohio Breeding Bird Atlas II is a 5 year project sponsored by the Ohio State University, School of Environment and Natural Resources and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources - Division of Wildlife. The goal is to document the birds breeding in Ohio, by surveying the entire state, which has been divided into blocks. The first atlas was conducted in Ohio from 1982-1987. When the current atlas is completed, it will provide data to indicate how the breeding bird situation has changed in the past 20 years. We may find that some birds have declined and are now of concern. We may locate areas that contain an exceptional diversity of birds, and need to be protected.
